Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend my grandson’s, Maddog, Veterans Day celebration at his school. It was so encouraging and patriotic.
There were two highlights for me personally. The first highlight was when the school said the pledge, all together. It was so loud and full of spirit. Think about 150 1st and 2nd graders saying the Pledge of Allegiance… loudly! It was awesome.
My 2nd highlight was when I was able to walk to the cafeteria with Maddox. All the kids lined the halls and cheered saying “thank you for your service!”.
You could tell he was proud to walk with me but I was double proud to walk with him. It was a special moment for us both.
The principal stated that his favorite part of the pledge is “one nation, under God”. No truer words could have been spoken.
